Most long-term teaching positions in Europe start at the beginning of the academic year in September. However, if you want to take a TEFL course in the March-June period, we can connect you with a range of short-term summer positions at various camps in Spain. These are not only great fun, but great work experience for newly-qualified teachers who want a reference on their resume prior to taking a long-term teaching position in September.
Why not take a TEFL course in the spring or early summer, take one of the positions below, then come back to us in late August/early September and we'll help you find a longer-term teaching job in your European country of choice? Camps are often run by local language schools, which is a great way to get your foot in the door for regular work.
Most of these camps run for two weeks, and the bigger programs have three or more camps, giving six weeks of summer work.
Camps in Spain usually take place in one of three locations: the city, the mountains or the beach.
These camps start hiring in April and really like to get certified teachers. They generally prefer University graduates between the ages of 20 -55, from one of the following countries: the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland. Because most camps are live-in you get free room and meals.
Other Summer Camps in Europe:
We are also aware of a limited number of positions available for more experienced Via Lingua graduates who are looking for summer work in other European locations. Please contact info@vialingua.org if you're interested.
